In a commando style, Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,NDLEA busted and dismantled two major clandestine laboratories which are into large scale production of Mkpuru Mmiri, ( crystal Methamphetamine) in Lagos and Anambra states.
The Chairman of NDLEA, Retired Brig-Gen Buba Marwa said today in Lagos that a 200-man, Special Strike Force Team was deployed for the operation. The team has been in the trail of the producers for 7months.
Two barons alongside their workers were apprehended. It was discovered that the 2 laboratories, each produced at least 50kilos of Methamphetamine every week, with plans underway to increase the capacity production to 100kg per week.

So desperate, the owner of the laboratory in Lagos located at the Victoria Garden City( VCG), Chris Emeka Nzewi was producing the dangerous illicit drug in the Boy’s Quarter of a duplex which houses his family, not minding the dangers of Methamphetamine to the ecosystem. The chemicals are toxic and can contaminate boreholes, consumption of which can cause kidney and heart problems.

The second laboratory of the dangerous Mpkpuru Mmiri which has wrecked the lives of many in Eastern Nigeria, was busted at Nise Community of Awka South local government, owned by Paul Ozoemenam.

The NDLEA Chairman , while stating the determination of his team to step up offensive against the brains behind illicit drugs circulation in Nigeria urged Nigerians to be vigilant of illicit businesses in their neighbourhood and report such.
