The Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki says the failure of the Nigeria healthcare system led to the incarceration of the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu in Britain.
Obaseki who stated this in Benin City while addressing the committee of Chief medical directors CMDs of Federal Tertiary Hospitals in the country said it was time to put an end to medical tourism through a proper review of the nation’s health system.
Gov Godwin Obaseki who expressed displeasure with the current situation of the nation’s health care system, Urged the Medical practitioners and political office holders to do all they can to strengthen the Nigeria health sector in order to curb medical tourism.

The committee of Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors MDs of federal tertiary hospitals across the country were in Benin City ,the Edo state capital, for its 102nd Regular Meeting and to celebrate the university of Benin Teaching Hospital UBTH for its 50th anniversary.
