Inspector-General of Police,Usman Alkali Baba has directed immediate investigation of the embattled INEC Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner( REC), Hudu Yunusa-Ari.
Police Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi who made this known in a statement also confirmed the receipt of a letter from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) outlining Barr. Hudu Yunusa-Ari, the Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), alleged irregularities during the recently concluded supplemental elections.
Consequently, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba gave directive for an investigative team to work in collaboration with the INEC to expedite action on the contents of the letter.
The FPRO said that the Inspector-General of Police expressed the commitment of the NPF to upholding democratic values and assures Nigerians and the international community that the Police will investigate the causes of the REC’s unwholesome conduct and bring all persons fingered in the investigations to book.
