DSS In The Eye Of The Storm Over Video Of N2b Bribe By Its Officer..Says Investigation Is On.

An Assistant Director with the State Security Services SSS, is under investigation after video emerged of him admitting to receiving the sum of two billion naira to unlawfully announce APC’s Aishatu Ahmed Binani as the winner of the Adamawa state governorship election

In the video, the disheveled looking man in a torn brown brocade caftan was seen ferried in the back of Hilux truck after the botched announcement along with another man identified to be an INEC National Commissioner.

Reacting to the development, the SSS in a statement released late on Sunday and signed by its spokesman Peter Afunnaya said it has commenced a full investigation into the development

It read in full, “The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to a trending video on the social media in which someone suspected to be its staff was allegedly manhandled by some political miscreants in Adamawa State. This followed developments arising from the supplementary governorship election in the State.

“The Service wishes to inform the public that it has commenced a full investigation into the circumstances that led to the incident”

It called for calm, imploring concerned parties in Adamawa State to remain peace loving and shun violence.
