The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the final result declared by the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Adamawa State,Hudu Ari as null, void and of no effect.
The Commission in a statement released by its National Commissioner in charge of information and voter education committee, Festus Okoye said the purported declaration of winner in the Adamawa Governorship election by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) even when the process has clearly not been concluded was a usurpation of the power of the Returning Officer.
The statement Consequently suspended the collation of results of the supplementary election. In Adamawa state.
Okoye added that the REC, Returning Officer and all involved have been invited to the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja immediately.
