A former Inspector General of Police( IGP) and Chairman , Police Service Commission, Mike Okiro has expressed grave concern over the roles played by some policemen during the last presidential and National Assembly elections held last month.
The former police boss called on the incumbent IGP , Alkali Baba to deal decisively with policemen who watched helplessly while hired thugs committed election violence during the election.
Mike Okiro who spoke in Lagos ahead of the coming Governorship and state house of Assembly poll slated for March 18th condemned in unequivocal terms election violence and intimidation of voters.

He further noted that the international community are watching the development as it unfolds with profound interest to see how open and credible the general election will turn out as it will determine how the country”s image will be perceived by them.
He implored the social media to be aggressive in capturing video clips of any form of election violence involving armed gangs and thugs hired by their principals to disrupt the polls.
