Chairman of the Independent National electoral commission, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu says despite the current cash crunch and fuel scarcity challenges in the country, The 2023 general elections will hold.
Yakubu said this on Wednesday during an interview with State house correspondents shortly after briefing the Executive Council of the Federation on the commission’s readiness for the election.
The INEC chairman while responding to a question from state house correspondents on what he told the council, he said the commission was already putting finishing touches to it’s preparation for the excercise.
The INEC chairman said the commission was also working closely with all relevant agencies including the security to ensure a hitch free election.
