The Police Authorities say the Policeman whose picture went viral for smoking substance suspected to be “weeds” has been identified. He is Assistant Superintendent of Police, Babatunde Adebayo serving at Shogunle Divison of the Lagos Command.
He was pictured smoking weed at the Ijora area of Lagos State.
Subsequently, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has directed the immediate commencement of appropriate disciplinary measures commensurate with his rank.
The Lagos Command Police Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said CP Alabi has equally warned officers and men of the Command to stay clear of all unprofessional and unethical conducts as any officer found guilty of these acts will be severely sanctioned.
Meanwhile, feelers from Police headquarters in Abuja have it that the erring Adebayo might loose his uniform over ” public misconduct “.
