Troops of the Special Task Force , ‘Operation Safe Haven’ deployed to ensure peace in Plateau, Bauchi and Part of Kaduna State have bursted a drug syndicate and recovered 315 blocks of substances suspected to be cannabis worth over 6.5 Million Naira.
The troops also recovered 1,610 Pregabalin capsule suspected to be illicit drugs without NAFDAC registration number.
The substances and Pregabalin capsules were neatly concealed in a Toyota Avensis Saloon car with registration number AAA 348 BT and Ford Edge Bus with registration number ABC 318 LU respectively.
The driver of the Toyota Avensis refused to stop for security checks at the Operation SAFE HAVEN check point along Akwanga – Gwantu Road in Sanga LGA of Kaduna State and On pursuit, troops shot at the vehicle, leading to the death of One of the suspects.



In the same vein, the Ford Edge Bus driver abandoned his vehicle on sighting troops checkpoint along Fadan Karshi Road and after a search conducted on the vehicle, the troops discovered large quantity of Pregabalin capsule IP 300mg suspected to be illicit drugs.

The relatives of the deceased have been identified and his remains have been recovered through court process for burial.
Meanwhile, the suspected substances and the Pregabalin Capsules have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control NAFDAC for further necessary action.
