In a most audacious move, a nursing mother, Mariam Dirisu has been arrested in Benin, Edo State while attempting to smuggle in hard drugs to a suspect in the cell.
She was arrested on Thursday October 21,when on a visit to a relation in the cell custody of NDLEA Headquarters Command in Edo State.A search conducted on the food she brought for her relation revealed 2 cups of ‘loud’ Cannabis weighing 13 grams.

Luck ran out on the 35- year-old Mariam when she was intercepted by Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ,NDLEA who found the drugs concealed in the food meant for a suspect under interrogation.
It was concealed inside ‘Akpu’ food . Spokesperson for NDLEA ,Femi Babafemi described Mariam’s action as ” uncommon audacity ” She would be arraigned ìn court accordingly.
