Operatives of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency in a renewed onslaught against drug trafficking have continued to decimate the camps of the traffickers. Ex-Military Sergeant, Muffat Ekong and an Italy-bound lady were among the traffickers arrested in a latest string of operations by NDLEA Operatives.
Ekonng was arrested alongside one Frank Iredia Obamwonyi on Wednesday, 11th August with 286.3kg of Cannabis at Ogwashi Uku,Delta State on their way to Enugu.Whilethe Italy-bound lady,Mrs Nnadi Nora Chinyere was caught with 100 wraps of heroin and two parcels containing the same substance at the departure hall of the Murtala Mohammed Airport,Ikeja-Lagos. The drugs were concealed in five containers of hair relaxer cream, She was arrested arrested on August 3rd during an outward clearance of passengers on Qatar Airways flight to Florentine, Italy.
In the same vein,the NDLEA Operatives intercepted a UK bound consignment of illicit drugs at the NAHCO export shed at Ikeja Airport,The consignment contains 66.6ookg of Cannabis, 1.450kg of Cocaine, all concealed inside cosmetics.
The NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi quoted the Chairman of NDLEA, Retired Brg. Gen Buba Marwa as saying that the current onslaught against drug traffickers would be sustained. He commended the operatives and charged them not to relent on their efforts.
